Grayson County Jail Roster
The official inmate lookup path located for Grayson County is the CPC JMS Grayson County inmate listing. The public interface has an Inmates tab and a table titled Currently Booked Inmates. It is a list and detail portal, not a broad name-search box. Rows are sorted by last name and each row includes a Details button that opens the inmate profile.
The Kentucky Department for Local Government lists Norman Chaffins as Grayson County Sheriff. The Grayson County Detention Center is the local custody facility at 320 Shaw Station Rd., Leitchfield, KY 42754. The detention center publishes a main phone number of 270-259-3636, a men's facility 24/7 number of 270-971-2072, and a female facility or annex number of 270-259-8160.
The CPC JMS public roster is the image assigned for the roster source.
The roster is best for current custody and charge display. It should not be used as the sole proof of a final conviction.
Use the Grayson Inmate List
The Grayson County inmate list loads current bookings from public data files and opens more detail through inmate profile routes. The research found no official sheriff mobile app with an inmate search feature, so the web roster is the documented route. If the public list is unavailable or unclear, call the detention center rather than substituting an unofficial people-search site.
- Open the CPC JMS Grayson County inmate listing and choose the Inmates tab if needed.
- Scan the Currently Booked Inmates list by last name, first name, middle name, age, and image.
- Select Details for the matching row to open the inmate profile.
- Review the detail fields and the Charges table for offense, description, bond amount, date, and disposition.
- Call the jail when identity, bond, release, or transport details are important and not shown online.
Grayson County Roster Fields
The portal does not work like a typical search form. The inspected interface displays a current-inmate table and detail buttons. That is an important distinction because a missing search field does not mean the person is not in custody. It may mean the user needs to scan the table, verify spelling, or call the facility.

Grayson County Inmate Profiles
The profile page shows more than the list view. Visible detail fields include first name, middle name, last name, height, weight, sex, age, and charges. The public code shows additional CSV fields, including race and bookedInDate, but those were not displayed in the inspected detail template. Fields such as arresting agency, holding pod, magistrate, warrant number, release date, court date, and medical or security flags were not visible.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Mugshot / booking image | Displayed from the public image path, with fallback if missing. |

County Jail vs State Custody
Grayson County custody records do not cover every place a person may be held. The county roster covers currently booked local inmates. The Kentucky Online Offender Lookup is for sentenced Kentucky Department of Corrections inmates and supervised offenders. The Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator is for sentenced federal prisoners. Kentucky VINE can be used for custody notification registration, but it is not the same as a court case search.
When a person is not on the Grayson County roster, check the record type before drawing a conclusion. They may have been released, transferred, held in another county, sentenced to DOC custody, or never booked in Grayson County. Court dockets and KYeCourts records can show case events that the jail roster does not show.
Grayson County Jail Contacts
The detention center publishes one address and multiple phone lines. Use the main jail number for general custody questions. Use the men's facility or female facility line when the person's housing location is known or when the jail directs callers to that unit.

Grayson County Booking Process
Booking begins when law enforcement transports a person to the detention center. Intake creates booking data, a photo, identity fields, and charge rows. The roster can show the charge description and bond amount, but the court system controls arraignment, probable-cause hearings, indictment, plea, disposition, and sentence. District Court handles arraignments, misdemeanors, traffic, and felony probable-cause hearings; Circuit Court handles felony cases after indictment or transfer.
The detention center services page says new inmates must be allowed reasonable telephone access to an attorney or family member as soon as practical, generally within one hour after arrival, until one call has been completed. That rule is separate from later phone access in housing units.
The public roster is list/detail based rather than a full name-search form. A reader may need to scan the current list, open the detail page, and then compare charge rows with court records. If a person was released, transferred to another county, or moved to state custody, the Grayson County roster may no longer show the same record even though the court case still exists.
Grayson County Bond Records
Bond information shown on the roster is only one part of release research. The detention center says it may offer several bond-posting options through a cooperative agreement with the Grayson County Circuit Clerk's office. It accepts District ROR Bonds and Circuit ROR Bonds. After the Circuit Clerk's normal business hours, it accepts District Cash Bonds and Circuit Cash Bonds. The jail does not accept District Surety Bonds, District Partially Secured Bonds, Circuit Partially Secured Bonds, or Circuit Surety Bonds as routine detention-center bond types.
Circuit Surety and Circuit Partially Secured Bonds generally must be posted at the Circuit Clerk's office during normal business hours. After regular business hours and on weekends, the detention center may contact the Circuit Clerk for approval, but the final decision rests with the Circuit Clerk. That is why a Grayson County inmate search should be followed by a direct call before bringing money, paperwork, or a surety to the jail.
| Bond Topic | Research Detail |
|---|---|
| ROR bonds | District and Circuit ROR bonds may be accepted by the detention center. |
| Cash bonds after hours | District and Circuit cash bonds may be accepted after Circuit Clerk business hours. |
| Surety bonds | Circuit surety bonds generally require the Circuit Clerk during normal business hours. |
| Final approval | After-hours or weekend approval depends on Circuit Clerk review. |
Grayson County Visitation Schedule
The Grayson County Detention Center services page provides the visitation schedule, bond notes, phone rules, and commissary details used here.
The schedule separates county or state visitation from federal visitation, and visits are listed as 15 minutes.
| Visitor Type | Days | Times | Length |
|---|---|---|---|
| County / State visitation | Wednesdays and Saturdays | 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Central; 12:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Central | 15 minutes |
| Federal visitation | Fridays and Sundays | 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Central; 12:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Central | 15 minutes |
| Attorney visits | Monday through Sunday | Anytime for in-person attorney visits; video by email scheduling | Not published |
Mail and Phone Rules
All non-legal mail is opened and searched before delivery. The detention center says paper, stamps, envelopes, pens, and pencils may not be mailed because those items must be purchased through commissary. Mail cannot include stickers, musical cards, recording cards, whiteout, photos, perfume, crayon marks, large envelopes, or questionable content by smell or texture. Items an inmate cannot have may be destroyed.
The phone provider is Combined Public Communications. The jail directs questions about receiving inmate calls to CPC online or by phone at 1-877-570-4268. Calls may be routinely monitored and recorded, with notice by posted signs. Phone privileges may be suspended for rule violations. Inmates in isolation must be taken to a phone at least once weekly for a call lasting no less than five minutes.
Those mail and phone rules affect inmate-record research because the public roster does not show every custody limit. Medical status, security classification, housing restrictions, and internal discipline are not public roster fields in the inspected material. Families should use the detention center's published rules for mail, property, phone, commissary, and visits instead of inferring facility permissions from the booking page.
Commissary and Property
Money can be deposited through the on-site JailATM system from Tech Friends or online at www.jailatm.com. Postal money orders can be mailed to Inmate Accounts in an envelope with no other mail. The jail fee schedule includes a $35 weekender fee, $85 for the first work release weekend including a drug test, $27.50 per day for work release housing, a $10 nurse fee, and possible $20 drug testing. Up to 50% may be taken from deposits for prior inmate debt.
The allowable-items page explains property limits and drop-off rules.
Property is accepted by mail or bonding window for 14 days after confinement; after that, items generally must be purchased from commissary.
Bond and commissary details should also be separated from sentencing. A person listed as pretrial may later be sentenced, released, transferred, or held on another county's warrant. A person listed as Sentenced DOC may be tied to state custody. The court file, jail record, and Kentucky corrections record answer different questions, so the safest inmate search compares all three when custody history matters.
| Item or Fee | Rule |
|---|---|
| Property drop-off | Monday-Friday at the bonding window between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. CST. |
| Third-party packages | Amazon, Walmart.com, and other third-party vendor packages are returned unopened. |
| Photos as property | Ten photos no larger than 5x7, with no photocopies, Polaroids, nude, or semi-nude photos. |
| Prior inmate debt | Up to 50% may be taken from deposits. |
| Medical costs | Inmates are responsible for doctor, hospital, dentist, optometrist, and pharmacy fees incurred. |
